The Antiquarians are offering these stunning plates as part of an estate liquidation. Feast your eyes upon this lovely set of 12 Royal Worcester porcelain plates in the Z2103 pattern featuring a salmon red or deep coral rim against a snow white base. A laurel wreath band is adjacent to the gilded outer rim, and the area of the verge showcases an elaborate design of gilded fretwork, filigrees and teardrops that measure a full 1-inch wide! With such liberal use of coral, pure white, and gold, one cannot help but think of Marie Antoinette when looking at these lovely creations.
These plates measure 10 5/8" and are in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or repairs, and only the lightest of utensil marks on some of the plates. (Please note that the white marks on the main image are merely reflections of my sister Elizabeth's camera!) These stunning plates are marked on the back with the standard Royal Worcester factory mark and the legend '51 Made in England'. The number '51' has no bearing on the vintage of these plates, but refers to the year 1751 when the Worcester Porcelain Factory was founded by Dr. John Wall. However, the backstamp itself does provide a more precise indicator of vintage and indicates that these plates were manufactured sometime from 1942 to 1948. Thus, even a conservative estimate of the age of these plates would place them at more than 60 years old. They are in amazing condition, given their likely age!
The china replacement sites currently do not have even one piece of this pattern in stock, but we are offering you 12 nearly flawless plates for a most reasonable price. Prepare to set a truly grand table this later this year!
Our shipping costs on this set of dishes will be $45.00. If this seems a tad high, please understand that in most instances, we will actually pay more to ship your items than we are actually charging! In addition, we will often send sets of dishes in multiple boxes because we pack them very carefully, to ensure that they reach you in the condition that they were in when they left our care. We often joke with each other that we could probably stick a stamp and a mailing address on our bubble-wrapped items, and dispense entirely with the box. That is because we use a large quantity of bubble wrap and other packing materials to protect the items that you buy. So please understand that the shipping we charge you reflects only a portion of our actual cost!
This exquisite set of dishes can be easily purchased on our layaway plan. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
