Product Description And Additional Pictures

Our delightful lass greets us with a lifted petticoat, the sight of a shapely foot, a cluster of grapes in her left hand, and a silver wine glass held up to her right temple. A bit hungover? Or has the polka just begun? Irrelevant, for our lovely Deutschland lass dances on into eternity, with a Doric column at her back to hide the electrical wiring and provide a spot for her to rest when she grows weary. Fetchingly dressed in a custard-yellow skirt with three ruffles, light green petticoat, and a white-and-bordeaux colored laced top, our lass graces a lamp that likely dates from the period 1925 - 1935. Touches of gilding on our lass's base and on the column behind her, and the silvering on her wine glass add a touch of elegance to our sprightly lass. Impressed in her base is 'Germany' and '5294.' Search as we might, we can find no other information on this lamp's provenance and manufacture. She stands 12-1/4" from her base to the top of the socket, and she has clearly been rewired. Our lass is in perfect condition with no chips, nicks, cracks, crazing or other significant defects that would detract from her beauty. We show her with a bordeaux-colored lamp shade that is not original to the piece, but which we think goes very nicely. The person who takes our polka lass home wins the lamp shade and our heartiest oohm-pa-pa!
