Product Description And Additional Pictures

We have a delightful pre-World War I Karl Ens antique porcelain figurine of a Bluetit bird on a branch with pink camelia-like flowers at the base. This delightful antique porcelain figurine was produced by the Karl Ens Porcelain Factory of Volkstedt, Germany during the early 20th century. As you can see from our photographs, the backstamp on our Karl Ens antique porcelain Bluetit figurine is well marked with the green windmill, and provides no place of origin. This sculpture is of exceptional quality, finished in a shiny glaze and hand painted in vivid hues. This antique porcelain figurine is in excellent, pristine condition with no damage or condition issues to report.

Although this antique porcelain figurine is one of our smaller Ens offerings, measuring 6" in height by 4.5" in width, the detail on the Bluetit bird is exacting and exquisite. So often one finds that there is some loss to the petals and leaves of older antique porcelain figurines, but not to ours -- it is perfect! Please examine our photographs and you will agree that this Karl Ens antique German porcelain figurine - though small - is both delightful and perfect in every way!

BRIEF HISTORY: Porzellanfabrik Karl Ens -- the Karl Ens Porcelain Factory -- operated from 1890 to 1972. In 1860 Karl Ens (pater) and a man by the name of Triebner established a porcelain manufacturing business called Triebner, Ens & Co. Over the next few decades their products became highly regarded, due largely to the efforts and talent of Ens' two sons, Eduard and Karl. 1899 Karl Ens (pater) left the company together with his sons and founded Porzellanfabrik Karl Ens which was widely known for the quality and artistry of its work. Rather than producing dinnerware and other utilitarian objects, Karl Ens focused on the production of exquisite, ornamental objects which were highly prized by those lucky enough to afford them.
