We are pleased to be able to offer such a lovely, classic selection of Syracuse China as this set in the Jefferson pattern. Decorated with a band of golden laurel leaves set against a deep cream background, each piece is trimmed in heavy 24K gold, which results in a very elegant look! Our Jefferson set consists of 12 large, 10-1/4" diameter dinner plates, an oval 10-1/4" vegetable bowl, and a large oval 14" platter. The plates show very few utensil marks --in fact, most of the plates are in mint condition. Only one plate shows a 1/16" - wide spot on the outer gold border which is somewhat darker than the rest of the border. We have provided a photograph of this slight blemish, although it really isn't very visible when you look at the plate in a table setting.
This handsome set of dishes was produced by Syracuse China between 1948 and 1966. Shortly thereafter, the legacy of a great American company ended when all production was moved overseas. These vintage porcelain jewels, we think, strongly resemble Lenox cream and gold sets, but for a fraction of the cost!
Our shipping costs on this set of dishes will be $30.00. If this seems a tad high, please understand that in most instances, we will actually pay more to ship your items than we are actually charging! In addition, we will often send sets of dishes in multiple boxes because we pack them very carefully, to ensure that they reach you in the condition that they were in when they left our care. We often joke with each other that we could probably stick a stamp and a mailing address on our bubble-wrapped items, and dispense entirely with the box. That is because we use a large quantity of bubble wrap and other packing materials to protect the items that you buy. So please understand that the shipping we charge you reflects only a portion of our actual cost!
