Product Description And Additional Pictures

Just in time for holiday dinners and other hosted events! The Antiquarians are pleased to offer this gorgeous Syracuse Mid-Century Fine China Contessa Pattern Cream & Gold Dinnerware Set(yes, it does look like Lenox) 107 Piece Service For 12 complete with serving pieces! Manufactured by Syracuse China, this Mid-Century set will impress with its haute beauty and with its fine quality. Hold the plates and other pieces up and look for the outline of your fingers -- you'll see them! This set is so large you won't have to pull other, mismatched pieces into service!

We believe that this Syracuse Mid-Century Fine China Contessa Pattern Cream & Gold 107 Piece Dinnerware Set Service For 12 may have been a special order. Aside from the "Old Ivory" backstamp, there is no pattern name included with the backstamp, which was generally Syracuse's practice. In addition, every piece of this Syracuse Mid-Century Fine China Contessa Pattern Cream & Gold 107 Piece Set, except for the serving pieces has a small, partial circle stamped in gilt near the backstamp. The design of the set is that of the elegant "Contessa" pattern, which was produced in white and platinum. However, as our photographs show, this set is in deep cream and gold.

Here are all the pieces that come with this bountiful set of fine Syracuse Mid-Century Fine China Contessa Pattern Cream & Gold 107 Piece Dinnerware Set Service For 12:

12 dinner plates, 9-6/8" diameter

12 salad plates, 8" diameter

12 rimless (coupe) soup bowls, 7-5/8" diameter

12 bread plates, 6-3/8" diameter

24 berry/dessert bowls, 5-1/8" diameter

12 pedestal cups, 3-7/8" diameter at rim and 2-1/8" at base

12 saucers, 5-5/8" diameter

1 open pedestal sugar bowl or nut dish

1 pedestal creamer

1 round, covered serving dish, 9" handle to handle

2 oval serving bowls, 12-1/4" in length

3 oval serving platters, in graduated lengths 12-1/8", 14-1/8", and 16-1/8"

What more is there to say? Look at our photographs to view for quality and condition. There are only 3 pieces with minor condition issues: (1) a fleabite on one of the 24 berry bowls, which can either be repaired or used as is (see photograph #13 below); (2) a light rust mark on one of the platters (see largest platter in our photograph of all 3 platters #12 below) and one of the bread plates (see photograph #14 below) that we were unable to remove. We have photographs of these 3 items, but we think you'll agree that they don't amount to much. One last condition item is that one of the 12 cups is cracked. We will send it with the set in the event that the purchasor wants to have it repaired, although the practice of serving coffee after dinner in formal cups and saucers is on the wane. Other than the specific condition items we have identified, this Syracuse Mid-Century Fine China Contessa Pattern Cream & Gold 107 Piece Dinnerware Set Service For 12 is in excellent vintage condition. It has not experienced heavy use, nor are there any other chips, cracks, staining, significant utensil marks or other issues that would detract from the beauty and utility of this set! Bring it home for the holidays!

This sale is for the Syracuse Mid-Century Fine China Contessa Pattern Cream & Gold 107 Piece Dinnerware Set Service For 12 only, and not the vendor's sign or any of the props that appear in the photographs.

Our shipping costs on this set of dishes will be $60.00. We will be shipping this large Syracuse Mid-Century Fine China Contessa Pattern Cream & Gold 107 Piece Dinnerware Set Service For 12 in multiple boxes because we pack them very carefully to ensure that they reach you in the condition that they were in when they left our care. If this seems a tad high, please understand that in most instances, we will actually pay more to ship your items than we are actually charging! We sisters often joke with each other that we could probably stick a stamp and a mailing address on our bubble-wrapped items, and dispense entirely with the box. That is because we use a large quantity of bubble wrap and other packing materials to protect the items that you buy. So please understand that the shipping we charge you reflects only a portion of our actual cost!
