Product Description And Additional Pictures

Our vintage Thun Czechoslovakia 17 piece porcelain tea set was produced in the Tradition pattern, which boasts a wide, delicate basket weave band, vividly colored floral bouquets and gilded rims, handles and spouts set against snow white porcelain.

This beautiful tea set includes:

A graceful teapot adorned with the same large bouquet of flowers on each side. The profuse bouquets contain a large maroon tulip and a large white rose, surrounded by violet anemonies, yellow daisies and lavender wild flowers. The top of the teapot is embellished with a 1" wide band of the basket weave pattern and is finished with a generous application of gold paint on the rim, the spout and the handle. The teapot measures 6" tall and 7-1/4" from the spout to the top of the handle. The lid of the teapot is adorned with three bouquets of flowers which include white roses, yellow daisies and lavender wild flowers. The lid's rim and handle are finished with a generous application of gold paint, and measures 2-1/4" tall and 2-3/4" wide.

A dainty creamer adorned with a petite bouquet which contains a violet anemone, flanked by yellow daisies and delicate green leaves throughout. The top of the creamer is embellished with a 1" wide band of the basket weave pattern, and is finished with a generous application of gold paint on the rim, the spout and the handle.

A stout, lidded sugar bowl which is adorned with the same petite bouquet of flowers as the creamer: a violet anemone flanked by yellow daisies and delicate green leaves throughout. The top of the sugar bowl is embellished with a 1/2" wide band of the basket weave pattern, and a generous application of gold paint around its rim. The lid of the sugar bowl is adorned with three bouquets of flowers including a maroon tulip, yellow daisies and lavender wild flowers. The rim and the handle are finished with a generous application of gold paint. It measures 2-1/4" tall and 2-3/4" wide.

And with six lovely teacups and six perfect saucers, the set is complete. All six of the delicate cups have the same floral bouquet on their front sides, which also matches the bouquet on the sugar bowl and creamer: a violet anemone flanked by yellow daisies and delicate green leaves throughout. The reverse side of the teacups have 4 different and distinct patterns. Two of the teacups have a maroon tulip, while two other teacups have yellow daisies with leaves. Another teacup has a white rose, and the remaining teacup has lavender wildflowers with green leaves. The top of each teacup is embellished with a 3/4" wide band of the basket weave pattern, and is finished with a generous application of gold paint on the rim and the handle. The cups measure 2-1/2" tall and 3-1/8" at the widest point including the handle.

The six saucers are each adorned with three bouquets of flowers in varying patterns of yellow daisies, white roses, violet anemones, maroon tulips and lavender wild flowers. The edge of each saucer is embellished with a 1/2" wide band of the basket weave pattern, and is finished with a generous application of gold paint on the rim. They measure 4-3/8" in diameter. All of the saucers, the creamer, the sugar bowl and the teapot are marked Thun Made In Czechoslovakia with a crown and TK above the word Thun. This mark was used from 1939 to 1945. All of the pieces in this set are in excellent vintage condition, with no chips, scratches or crazing. The floral bouquets are bright and flawless, and are ready to bring the magic of springtime to your table!
